DAYLIGHT TO DARKNESS
Wondering if you should dive the Busselton Jetty during the day or at night? You’re already here, so why not both? The Busselton Jetty is an incredible dive site, but is completely different day to night.
First, join us for an afternoon dive where with fantastic visibility you can take in the entirety of this iconic dive site, its vibrant colors, the underwater sculpture trail and the 300 marine species that call it home. When you return, leave all your gear on the boat and let us refill your tank while you relax or grab a bite to eat. When night falls and the Jetty becomes alive with nocturnal creatures, we re board the boat for our second adventure. Illuminated by torch light your marine encounters will be nothing short of memorable. And, one of the underwater sculptures even glows in the dark!

- It is a requirement that all divers have an indicator or glow stick on their tank when diving at night.
- If you are not an Advanced Open Water certified diver you will need to book this package to be able to dive the Busselton Jetty at night. This will allow you to familiarize yourself with the dive site during the day prior to undertaking the dive at night. It is also highly recommended you add a dive guide to your night dive booking.
Note: Torches and indicator lights are available to purchase. If you select the ‘in store pickup’ option we will make sure these are charged and ready to go on the day of your dive.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
-
While you do not need to have snorkeling experience to join one of our tours, you do need to be able to swim and be comfortable in the ocean. Our snorkel guides can show you how to use a snorkel and will be close by if you have any troubles. We have swimming noodles to assist with floatation, however if you think you may require something additional (e.g. a lifejacket), please bring this along with you.
-
No! You can come do a ‘try dive’ with us to see what it’s all about! We will provide all the equipment you need and take you for a dive at the Busselton Jetty. This is a one off dive with an instructor and does not provide a certification for you to continue diving afterwards; however, most people love it so much they are back to do their Open Water Course straight away!
-
Generally our snorkel and dive tours are ran separately, however, if you have a group of 4 or more we can arrange this for you. Your group will need to have at least 2 scuba divers and 2 snorkellers. This is for safety reasons so nobody is entering the water on their own. Alternatively, you can add dive / snorkel guides to your booking.
-
Yes! You are more than welcome to come along. We have many others who will be doing the same. For all our unguided dives the crew will make sure everyone has a dive buddy before they enter the water. Every effort will be made to buddy people up with someone of a similar experience level, however, please note this may not always be possible. If you are concerned about being buddied up with someone you don’t know, you are able to add a dive guide in your booking and one of our experienced dive masters or instructors will guide your dive.
Please note : If you intend to freedive or undertake a technical dive at the HMAS Swan Wreck, you will need to book with your dive buddy for safety reasons.
-
Yes! Check out our Shipwrecks & Sculptures package! This includes a double dive on the HMAS Swan Wreck in the morning and either an afternoon or a night Busselton Jetty dive.
-
Our HMAS Swan dive trip is a double dive! The wreck is 114m long and more than 20m tall, so there is plenty to see on two dives – You may even need more! So that you don’t miss anything, we recommend upgrading to a guided dive and letting our experienced dive guides lead the way and show you in and around the best parts of the wreck!
-
This is a fantastic question – the only answer we can come up with is both! The Busselton Jetty is an incredible dive site, but is completely different day to night. With incredible visibility, during the day you can take in the entirety of this iconic dive site, its vibrant colors and the 300 marine species that call it home. But, when night falls the Busselton Jetty becomes alive with new creatures. Illuminated by torch light your marine encounters will be nothing short of memorable. And, there’s a glow in the dark sculpture! Check out our Daylight to Darkness package!

No. We do not require divers to be Advanced certified to dive the HMAS Swan Wreck. However, we do ask you to have an honest assessment of your ability and to dive within your limits.
What this means is if you are inexperienced or uncomfortable with aspects of diving such as; the hazards associated with wreck diving, understanding your computer and No Decompression Limits or controlling your buoyancy without a sea floor directly beneath you, you may consider upgrading to a guided dive, where our qualified and experienced team can assist in making sure you have a fun and safe dive.
This also means if you are an Open Water certified diver, you ensure you do not exceed 18m. The sea floor at the HMAS Swan is 32m deep, with the main deck at 18m and the crows nest at 8m – So it’s still well worth it! There is plenty to see at all depths and the visibility is often 15-20m so its highly likely you will be able to see the entire wreck. Plus, this is where most of the marine life lives!
-
This is completely up to you, but we think having a dive guide takes all the stress out of diving and makes it much more fun!
Reasons why having a guide is great:
- You’ve got an experienced professional with you every step of the way
- There is no need to worry about navigating an unfamiliar dive site
- They can help you if there is something you’re unsure about
- They know where the best spots and critter hidey holes are!
- You’ve got someone to pass your camera to so they can capture that memorable underwater moment for you!
- They will give you peace of mind to make your day is safe and enjoyable

Its not often our tours are cancelled, especially during the summer months, but we are at the mercy of mother nature and some things are beyond our control. If your tour is cancelled due to weather or low numbers you will be notified of this by text or email (the ones used when you made your booking) as soon as possible. We will try and arrange another suitable time for your tour, however, if we are unable to do so we will provide a voucher or refund.
