CHOOSE YOUR EXPERIENCE
-
The short answer. Yes – you can!
Swan Dive generally teaches the Open Water Dive course over 3 days for many reasons. In our experience, three days is a great amount of time to learn and practice the skills and concepts required to become a high quality and safe scuba diver in the future. It allows our experienced dive instructors to spend quality time with each student and lets us have a lot of fun along the way. Diving is also physically demanding, so spreading the course over three days means you would do two dives each day, and our dive schedule allows for more diversity in the dive sites you get to visit!
Having said this, we understand not everyone has 3 days available, so it is possible to do it in 2 days. The 2 day courses can be booked online, or are available on request. Please get in contact with us for more information.

To start diving you need to be at least 10 years old. From the age of 10 you can complete the open water dive course and earn a Junior Open Water certification. This certification restricts you to diving with a parent/guardian or dive professional. Once you turn 15 you can upgrade this to a general Open Water Certification.
Some specialty courses have higher age limits.

Please read the medical form carefully! This questionnaire is designed to identify medical conditions that may cause issues while diving. In most cases, if you tick ‘yes’ to any of the medical questions, you need a doctor to sign this form before you come for your dive course.
We encourage you to do this as soon as possible to endure you have time to make a doctors appointment if required. We dislike nothing more than when you arrive excited for your dive course, only to discover we cant take you diving that day!
-
Be sure to read through your confirmation email carefully. This will outline the dive equipment required for your specific dive course.
In addition to this we recommend everyone bring:
- Bathers and a towel
- Hat and sunscreen
- Water bottle
- Snacks and lunch
- Dry clothes to change into, including a jumper
